The Funds, One by One
1. iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA)
BlackRock’s fund is the largest spot Ethereum ETF by a wide margin, with about $8.37 billion in assets on October 14, 2026, per The Block. It charges a 0.25% sponsor fee and is valued against the CME CF Ether-Dollar Reference Rate, New York Variant, per iShares. ETHA does not stake its ether.
2. Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF (ETHE)
ETHE started as a private Grayscale trust and converted to an ETF when US spot ether funds launched in July 2024. It now stakes part of its ether, but its 2.50% fee is the highest on this list, ten times ETHA’s, per Grayscale. Grayscale’s own page can show a slightly different asset figure than The Block because of timing.
3. Grayscale Ethereum Staking Mini ETF (ETH)
Grayscale launched this lower-cost sibling of ETHE alongside the other spot funds in July 2024. At 0.15%, it has the lowest fee in the top 10, and it also stakes, per Grayscale.
4. Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH)
Fidelity’s fund trades on Cboe BZX with a 0.25% fee and stakes part of its ether, paying rewards quarterly, per Fidelity. Like its Bitcoin fund, Fidelity holds the ether through its own custody arm, Fidelity Digital Assets.
5. iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB)
BlackRock’s second ether fund launched on Nasdaq on March 12, 2026, built to pass on rewards from staking part of its ether, per BlackRock. It reached about $888 million in assets in seven months. Its standard fee is 0.25%, cut to 0.12% on the first $2.5 billion until March 12, 2027, per iShares.
6. Bitwise Ethereum ETF (ETHW)
Bitwise’s fund charges 0.20% and does not stake, per Bitwise. It is the largest fund outside the BlackRock, Grayscale and Fidelity group.
7. VanEck Ethereum ETF (ETHV)
VanEck’s fund charges 0.20% and aims to track the price of ether, with the coins held in cold storage by a qualified custodian, per VanEck.
8. Franklin Ethereum ETF (EZET)
Franklin Templeton’s fund has the second-lowest fee in the top 10 at 0.19%, per Franklin Templeton.
9. 21Shares Ethereum Staking ETF (TETH)
Launched in July 2024 as the 21Shares Core Ethereum ETF (CETH) and now listed on Cboe BZX, TETH tracks the FTSE Ethereum Index, stakes a portion of its ether and pays rewards in cash each quarter, per 21Shares. Its 0.21% fee is waived until October 8, 2027.
10. Invesco Galaxy Ethereum ETF (QETH)
A partnership between Invesco and Galaxy Digital, QETH charges 0.25% and is the smallest fund in the top 10, per Invesco.

Ethereum ETFs in Canada
Canada had spot ether ETFs more than three years before the US. Purpose Investments calls its Purpose Ether ETF “the world’s first physically settled Ether ETF,” with an inception date of April 19, 2021, and it now stakes a portion of its ether. Other TSX-listed spot ether funds include:
- Fidelity Advantage Ether ETF: a separate Canadian fund priced in Canadian dollars, not the US FETH.
- CI Galaxy Ethereum ETF
- Evolve Ether ETF
- 3iQ Ether Staking ETF
Canadian funds report an MER (management expense ratio), which includes the management fee and other costs, so compare MERs rather than headline fees. Many can be held in a TFSA or RRSP; check with your broker.
Futures Ethereum ETFs Are Different
Funds like the ProShares Ether ETF (EETH) do not hold ether. They hold ether futures contracts, which must be rolled over, and that can make returns drift from the ETH price. Futures-based ether ETFs launched in the US in October 2023, per The Block, months before the SEC approved the exchange rules for spot funds in May 2024 (SEC order 34-100224). Everything ranked above is a spot fund. If you want the Bitcoin version of this ranking, see our list of Bitcoin ETFs by size.
How to Compare Them
- Fee: all spot funds track the same asset, so the fee is the clearest difference. On $10,000, a 0.25% fee costs about $25 a year; a 2.50% fee costs about $250.
- Staking or not: staking funds pass on part of the network rewards after their cut; non-staking funds give plain price exposure. To earn rewards directly instead, see how to stake Ethereum yourself.
- Temporary waivers: ETHB and TETH have waivers with end dates. Compare the standard fee too.
- Size and trading volume: bigger, busier funds usually have tighter bid-ask spreads.
- Custodian: who holds the ether. Many use Coinbase Custody; Fidelity holds its own.
Not advice: this list ranks funds by size only. It is not a recommendation to buy any fund, and size says nothing about future returns. Ether is volatile, and an ETF does not change that.
